Coronation Ball have just revealed ‘God Be Careful’, a follow up to last month’s debut single ‘You Had My Heart’.

It was a slice of fiercely intelligent indie-pop from youthful minds, with frontman Dominic Scott citing “Be My Baby” by the Ronettes as an inspiration for the interplay for the lead vocal and the backing vocals, and Bill Medley’s delivery on The Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” as an influence on the middle section. On new track ‘You Had My Heart’, they continue to take equal influence from modern hip-hop production and leftfield indie-rock.

The group are the perfect example of diligent patience, working on their material in the studio and in rehearsal until it felt complete enough, mature enough for a wider audience. Both tracks revealed so far are a perfect introduction to the band’s ambitious, eclectic melodicism.

Catch the band live in London on this date:

Young and Lost Club Records at The Nest in Dalston on the 25th of May
