The New Video For David Bronson’s ‘Idols’ by Johnerick Lawson (TV On The Radio)

With an already extensive back catalogue of highly creative videos for his music, David Bronson has now released a new offering for recent sophomore album track ‘Idols’. In collaboration with illustrator Johnerick Lawson (who has previously worked closely with TV On The Radio), this captivating and curious animation further establishes Bronson as an artist with prolific audio and visual dexterity.

The album, The Long Lost, from which Idols is featured, can be streamed in full here:

This is the second time Bronson and Lawson have worked together, the first being on the equally wonderfully oddball video for ‘Outside’ (from debut album ‘Story’) which can be viewed here:

Bronson says:

“Since working with Johnerick on the ‘Outside’ video I knew I wanted him to do another one for The Long Lost, and Idols was the song that seemed to most readily inspire imagery in him, so that was that. Just like the last one, I love the simple yet sophisticated metaphors he’s come up with – it’s a pretty stunning visual counterpart to the song.”

Bronson is currently on a tour of the Midwest and Northeast of the States with dates including Chicago, Indiana and Ohio before concluding on the east coast at NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall. Further dates in April are to be confirmed.

A third album is in the works and is slated for release later in the year. Although it’s too early to reveal too much information, we can tell you it will be the first in Bronson’s new direction of songwriting and features exciting guest appearances. It promises to portray even more of Bronson’s intriguing creativity and musicianship.
